Hello! I’m Tanya, the lead founder of Welwe Dumplings.
All three of our founders are first-generation immigrant moms from China. We blend the craftsmanship of traditional Chinese home cooking with today’s fast-paced lifestyle through authentic, tasty, and healthy dumplings.

I grew up on Hainan Island, where my family valued fresh, natural food long before it became a trend. We ate simply— fresh seafood, naturally raised meats, and vibrant vegetables—mostly steamed, boiled, or gently stir-fried, allowing the natural flavors to shine.

I later spent many years living in northern China, where dumplings are a staple of everyday life. That experience, combined with my upbringing, shaped my deep appreciation for clean, balanced flavors and my love for making dumplings and dim sum.

During the pandemic, my family finally had the time to return to the tradition of hand-making dumplings every week—crafting colorful, plant-based wrappers, a variety of flavorful fillings, and moments full of joy. But like many busy families, we quickly realized how time-consuming it can be.

In 2022, I asked myself: how can I make it easier for families—and for younger generations like my children—to enjoy authentic, healthy dumplings without all the work?

After 20+ years as an entrepreneur, I turned that idea into reality. With encouragement from friends (“the best dumplings we’ve ever had!”), I founded Welwe Hearty Foods. In October 2023, we launched our first line of frozen artisan dumplings—crafted with care, full of flavor, and made to nourish both body and heart.
